Often the vents on our homes are very similar to the areas in nature that birds are naturally attracted to.

As the original soft bird screens applied on the back sides of the vents age, they get softer and more brittle and wont hold up to a determined bird beak.

We install strong metal bird screens from the exterior. The screens blend in well on most homes. We remove bird nests - when we can get to the nest. We also treat bird nesting areas with diatmoaceous earth to eliminate bird parasites.

It is important to install birds screens in every potential nesting or activity area.  If you only screen the current activity areas they will just move over.  Birds return to the same neighborhoods and the same houses, year after year.

Also, it is less expensive to have all the areas screened in one visit than to pay for many return visits.

We don't recommend that homeowners install bird screens for two reasons:

Ladders:

• In the U.S. more than 500,000 people a year are treated for ladder related injuries, and that number does not include people who suffered injuries but did not go to a medical care provider for treatment.

• About 300 people in the U.S. die from ladder related injuries annually.

• Estimated annual cost of ladder related injuries is $11 billion, including work loss, medical, legal, liability, and pain and suffering expenses.

Parasites:

• Birds carry lice, mites, and other parasites.

• Screening out birds without treating for potential parasites could lead to parasites filtering down into the structure and infesting your living area.

• The cost of treating your home for parasites could be much higher than the cost of professional bird screening.
