At Safeguard, we try to treat everyone the same way we want to be treated.  Ever had your car serviced by a good, honest mechanic?  Ever had an electrician or plumber charge you less than you expected for really quality work?  That's exactly what we are aiming for.

We have little to no employee turn over.  We treat out employees with respect and pay them at the very top of the local wage scale.  We provide them with learning opportunities and all the resources and training to do their work with confidence and professionalism.

We have little to no customer turn over.  We stress affordable quality. We dont want to be the least expensive company, we want to be the very best company you can afford.

We use the least toxic control materials that work.  We always suggest solutions that save our customers money over the long term.  We want to be of your source for pest solutions and we want to be worthy of your referrals.

 
Why do a very few stop using Safeguard?

The single biggest reason people stop using our service?  They move out of our service area.
 

Reason #2:

 

The second biggest reason is our failure to communicate with people the absolute importance of pest exclusion and pest prevention. 

When we first come out to your home, and periodically thereafter, we try to let you know about those things that make your home attractive or accessible to pests. No matter how hard we try to convince our customers to cut back tree limbs, ivy, blackberries and other vegetation, some will not. 

No matter how many times we tell people that they need have us rodent proof their home, some will not. Some wont see the need, others wont like the expense, and some will want to do it themselves - but it never gets done to a professional level.

Our comments about lowering the dirt level around the base of their home will get ignored.

All of these things (and possibly others) lead to still having pests or getting future pests - even while your home is on service.  When they do return we are blamed and service relationships end.  Pest control is like medical care for your home. When your home has pests it is very much like having an illness. Just like a doctor will often recommend a change in diet, and excercise plan, and some medication, we recommend prevention, exclusion, and an judicious use of control materials.

Some customers refuse to follow their house doctor's advise about diet and excercise (prevention and exclusion) and blame their doctor (service provider) for the medicines (pesticides) failure to cure their problem.

 

Last but not least:

 

Every year we do have a small number of people who cancel a regular service program because it is working.  Too well.

Yep, read that sentence again.

The goal of an ongoing service is to repel and prevent pest activity. The materials we use are both ultra low in toxicity, (much less toxic than caffeine), and highly repellent. 

They work so well at keeping pests away that customers will sometimes cancel because they no longer sense a need. Huh? Say what?  Now wait a minute, wasn't that the goal?

A few months later when the materials break down and stop being repellent.. the pest population level begins to increase and then soon, many of these customers are back to square one.

If your goal is to not have ants in your kitchen or chewing up your home, if you dislike sharing space with spiders, or worse, rats, if you want to reduce the number of wasps in your area, all we ask is that you think twice before you cancel.

We'll give you the same top quality service if you do, when you call us back, but often it is more expensive to stop and restart service. New infestations always take a lot more work than a regular maintenance service.

If you do decide to cancel for this reason, we will honestly miss you, we do so hope that you will call us again in the future, and wish to thank you for trusting Safeguard to meet your pest control needs.
