Kill Spider

What you need to know.

Spiders get to your house in three ways.

They crawl across the ground.  This is the most common method. They crawl over onto your house from attached vegetation. They float through the air.(Tiny new hatchlings let out long spider web lines that get caught in the wind and they float through the air until they hit something - like your house.)

Spider Extermination

Exterior spider extermination. Getting rid of spiders via Safeguard, how we exterminate spiders.

Exterior spider kill / how to kill spiders outside :

At a minimum the exterior base of the home should be sprayed. For most homes we spray a three foot band around the exterior at the base, including the base of the foundation, up under the edge of your siding and the ground level around the exterior.  It is important to use a spider control material that does not soak into concrete, that is highly repellent to spiders, and safe for children and pets if used properly.  We choose materials with no fume, no odor, and less toxicity than your average home cleaning chemical.

Many people who choose to go on service specifically to kill spiders are going to opt for more thorough spider control applications, including around doors and windows, overhangs, eaves, vent openings, between the home and nearby vegetation, the underside of decks if accessible, and deck railing.

Many people will have this spider extermination service repeated 4 times per year, as the materials we use to control spiders  do their best work in getting rid of spiders for 3 months on the exterior where it is exposed to sunlight.

Notes:

Rain does not wash off our spider extermination materials. Most of the areas we spray around your home are covered by your eaves and if it has even moments to settle on a surface - it will stay on that surface and continue to control spiders for months.

For a small extra fee, we can use a 'spider pole' to help knock down exterior webs at each service.

Our service is targeted to kill all types of spiders.  From the one that run around without a web such as the house spider, the Hobo spider, Jumpind spiders, Wolf spiders, Garden orb spiders, and should you have them, it would even work against Black widows spiders, or Brown Recluse.

Spider Extermination

Interior spider extermination. Chemical and non-chemical control.

Interior spider kill / how to kill spiders on the inside:

Note: Spider control materials will last up to six months on the interior in your living areas where there is much less sunlight. We normally only recommend treating living areas - during an initial service and once per year on an ongoing basis.

On the interior we spray baseboards, upper corners, around beds and other furniture to get rid of spiders.

We do recommend and are happy to install non-toxic spider glue traps to control spiders in basements and garages.

Some spider control customers will opt for having their sub area or roof voids treated for spiders.  These materials will last for a full year since there is little or no sunlight in these areas.  We often service these areas on an initial service and once per year on an ongoing basis - usually during the winter service.

Kill Spider  - What You Can Do.
Non-chemical ways to kill spider

Spider prevention based on the previous paragraph:

Remove clutter, leaf debris, and unnecessary stuff around the base of your home.  Relocate firewood piles.  Ask us for other suggestions.

No vegetation should touch your house.  Vines should be on free standing trellises.  Trees and tree branches should be at least three feet away from your home.  Shrubs, bushes, flowers, and gardens should always be at least 18 inches or farther away and nothing within three feet of roof, gutter, or eave.

Consider Investing in a telescoping painters pole and purchase a brush head to fit on it. For most homes, wiping down spider webs with the pole will be a weekly event during April and May and then again starting in mid July through October.

Install non toxic spider glue traps in your garage, basement, and other rooms where you see spiders. Put the traps in corners, around furnaces, water heaters and beside garage doors.

Exterminate Spiders = Spider Free?

For most people, following our suggestions for non-chemical control together with having us treat their home on a quarterly basis is everything they need to know about how to kill spiders.  It will reduce spider activity by as much as 85%, perhaps more.  However, since spiders are much larger than common insects, since they spend less time on treated surfaces than insects, and since our control materials are designed to be safe for kids and pets, you will probably never get rid spiders completely.  However, our spider extermination customers are among our most loyal and satisfied customers - if you don't like spiders - you will love the way kill spiders!
